I purchased two of the Mold Backers with my Injekto and Shred purchase. My Intro to Engineering Design students had been asking about design, mold machining, and injection molding. I happened across Action Box during my research and ultimately landed on them as a supplier for some equipment to experiment with. I was not disappointed. The mold backers are quality. The available STL designed to fit these will make mold creation a breeze. Can you mold without them? Sure. Would I want to now that I see the equipment setup? Nope.
Mold Backers (for INJEKTO 3) is an ideal aluminum device not only for holding 3D-printed molds made of filament and resin, but also for molds made of aluminum or even steel.
The device is easy to use, precisely manufactured to fit perfectly, and closes the two mold halves absolutely securely.

This thing does a fantastic job of holding the printed molds together, and you can feel it when it's correctly seated under Injekto 3. Not having to worry about whether you clamped your mold good enough makes this little gem worth its weight in gold for me.
