Choose PEEK when a part has to survive conditions that would soften or dissolve ordinary plastics: sustained heat, solvent exposure, or constant mechanical wear. Common uses include printer hot end parts, insulating spacers, heat-cycled fixtures, and one-off replacements for components that failed in service.

Keep sealed in a cool, dry place out of sunlight. PEEK barely absorbs moisture, but even a trace can degrade the material in the barrel.

Pellets are inert and safe to handle. The hazard is heat. PEEK runs near 380°C with a heated mold, so burns are a serious risk across the whole hot end. Wear safety glasses and insulated gloves, and treat every hot surface as dangerous. If molten material contacts skin, cool under running water, don't pull it off, and get medical attention.

Ventilate the workspace. Leftover residue from other materials will burn at these temperatures, and PTFE components release harmful fumes above 350°C. Purge before running and check your hot end for PTFE liners.

PEEK re-melts cleanly, so sprues, runners, and reject parts can be shredded and run again. The material is chemically inert and stable with no reportable hazardous substances, but it carries no recycling code and curbside programs won't take it. Reuse it or dispose of it as regular waste.

This is reclaimed post-industrial PEEK, supplied without material certification or lot traceability. Not for medical, aerospace, food contact, or other regulated applications requiring certified virgin PEEK.
